The National Radial Engine Exhibition is a static display of radial engine aircraft from the1920’s to the 1950’s. This annual event includes a muscle, antique, and classic car show, radio controlled airplane exhibitions, food and vendor booths, aerobatics display and of course some of era’s most impressive airplanes!
Come spend the day visiting the displays and the vendor booths that include food, crafts, aviation and art. Just remember to bring your lawn chair to sit in during all of the spectacular shows we have planned for this year!
Highlights
This year’s event headlined Sons of Legends aerobatics by Matt Younkin in the Traveler Mystery Ship and Kyle Franklin in the Super Waco. The show also featured four other aerial acts including Gene McNeeley from Team Aeroshell in his AT-6 Texan. Don Nelson returned with his high energy Sukhoi SU-26 and Gary Miller introduced his act in his AT-6 Racer. The Air Force’s Air Combat Command sent their “West Coast A-10 Thunderbolt II Demonstration Team” which was joined by a WW II P-51 Mustang.
In addition to this world class air show there was a TBM Avenger, Torpedo Bomber along with other WW II era radial planes parked along side great planes from the ‘20s thru the ‘50s. The show started with sky divers, had radio controlled plane demonstrations, a major car show, many vendors and exhibits. The exciting day began with a 5K run/walk and ended with a movie quality WW II reenactment battle with live pyrotechnics.
